RIBA Awards West Midlands Winner 2008 Worcester City Award Winner 2006 Client : Kings School Worcester Located in the shadow of Worcester cathedral, existing buildings range in age from 13th century to 20th centuries. A phased programme of reordering, landscape works and new building is under way. Low energy servicing strategy incorporates state of the art mixed mode ventilation system, employing automatic temperature and air quality room environment control of stack assisted natural ventilation installation together with fan assisted trickle ventilation with heat recovery for winter occupation and secure night time fabric cooling for summer occupation. Controls feature full manual override facility (multiple zones) to allow users to tune their environment as desired. LEDA are employed as environmental advisors and building services engineers on a series of high profile, capital redevelopment projects. Works include the upgrading and remodelling of seven school buildings to date carried out over the last six years and cover full electrical & mechanical services design role in addition to architectural design advice with respect to minimising energy consumption and enhancing sustainability.Additional works include general advice to school on energy efficiency, building services controls and building services management.
